2011 Cross Country Meet Information
ALL MEETS EXCEPT FOR THE POST SEASON ARE HELD AT THE BELMONT PLATEAU, FAIRMONT PARK, PHILADELPHIA (MAP)
ALL MEETS START AT 1:00 PM with the Sub-Novice Race.
The 1st Meet is TENTATIVELY scheduled for September 11, 2011. (There is a conflict on dates on the permit that was issued by the City of Philadelphia. We are trying to resolve this issue and should know by weeks end.)
Meets are confirmed for September 18th, 25th, October 2nd, 9th, and 23rd.
There will be no meet the week of October 16th.
Championships will be October 30th. (Except for sub-novices, an athlete must run a minimum of 2 regular season races in order to run Championships. Sub-Novs are exempt from this requirement)
Post Season Meets: (more on this later)
Regional Qualifying Meet, Killen’s Pond State Park, Felton, DE November 6, 2011
National Championship meet, Huntington, WV, November 19th.
PRACTICES: To be held Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at Downingtown East High School Track. There will be exceptions which will be noted at the start of the season.
AGE GROUPS:
Sub-novice – Kindergarten, first, second and third graders regardless of age
Novice – born in 2001-2002 AND in at least fourth grade
Minor – born in 1999-2000
Cadet – born between Sept. 1, 1996 and Dec. 31, 1998 and not graduated from the eighth grade
